Book Recommendations Plus: Readers Advisory Resources


Book Recommendations come in all formats and genres.  The sites listed below are intended to be a resource for individuals, groups, and especially book groups who wish to stay up-to-date with popular and well-reviewed book titles.
 
     General
 
Goodreads.   Goodreads is an American social cataloging website that allows individuals to search its database of books, annotations, quotes, and reviews.  Users can sign up and manage books they wish to read, have read, and/or share reviews with authors and readers.

Library Reads.  A monthly nationwide library staff picks list.  Readers can download a printable pdf or a given month.

New York Times Book Review  "Best Sellers."  Weekly list of fiction and non-fiction books, with graphic books and manga, mass market all published monthly.

National Public Radio (NPR)  NPR "Morning Edition Book Club."  

PBS News Hour-NY Times "Now Read This" Book Club.

Somers Library Pinterest.  Library staff creates and reviews posted content.  Site includes newly received fiction, non-fiction and other content.  

Somers Library "Staff Picks" for 2021.  Annually staff submit their favorite reads from the prevous
year.

Good Morning America (GMA) Book Club.

Oprah's Book ClubPrintable list and checklist can be downloaded and printed.

Reese's Book Club.  Reese Witherspoon chooses a book monthly with a woman at the center of the story.  Vision is: "Women: May we write them truer, raise them higher, and read them more."

Today Show's Read with Jenna Book Club.  Jenna Bush Hagar picks a new book to read together and discuss each month.

Tonight Show: Jimmy Fallon "2021 Summer Reads."  Viewers/reads are encouraged to read and vote for the six selected titles.
